Have it all - live your best life. The bullsh#t that stops us from finding contentment.

An ode to the lost, wading through the promises of the Wellbeing trend, looking for good health and happiness.

Foreword: A plea to those who profess to know the way; the influencers who embody utter peace through a filter/product placement and heavily edited photography, the businesses who capitalise on societies fist steps of awakening to wellbeing, those who take your money so that you too can manifest your dreams for an early bird price, the celebrities who extort even greater opportunity from their status by promising alignment through their shadow written self help books, those who have found ‘the key’ to meditation and can share if you follow/like or pay, those who promise what they themselves don’t understand...

Consider the impact that money making promises can have on a desperate person with soul and heart, the effect of gaslighting people who want to discover their own sense of contentment, the morality regarding those who are mentally/physically ill who don't know which way to turn.

Do it all, explore it all, it all works...on the surface.

Keep a habits diary to make changes, meditate by candle light when you want to tick off your zen activity for the day, go to yoga classes and improve your practice, go for a run and post about it, review your nutrition and follow a celebrity endorsed diet, feel good about how many books about mental health, productivity, spirituality, holisitic approaches to wellbeing you have read, create affirmations and mantras that remind you of your self determined and pride informed purpose in life.

It all works. Your shell is beautiful, your ego boosted, everyone absentmindedly likes it and people you will never meet follow you. Your soul remains entirely untouched, restless, lonely, withered.

You have tried; tried it all, tried to make room for it all and yet now and then you still feel the unbearable weight of a soul starved of contentment and overwhelmed with comparison.

If you are desperate to live with authenticity, happiness and honesty, you are struggling, disconnected or living a life that makes you unhappy...

Stop.

What is it that you want?

Listen carefully, listen to what makes your body and mind happy.

Simply - do that.

Look to your small and ignored inner voice and listen carefully to what your happiness looks like. Make ENORMOUS amounts of space for this voice to coax it out and give it the space to feel comfortable and bold. Take that space from all of voices that you listen to to define your experience or tell you what you think and feel, from the time you give to others, from the time you give to expectations around you including your own.

By all means, explore it all, all that is out there, all that is advertised, all that is 'now' or sought after or ‘the answer.’

But first...listen.

Take steps of exploration with that voice at the forefront. Take those steps with curiosity and without hope or reliance. Your ability to show compassion to yourself, to know what makes your soul glisten with happiness and flood with contentment will allow you the feeling you are looking for. The feeling of a sense of connection to your voice/your energy/your wants/ your desires/your god/your higher power/ your purpose/ your freedom.

So, put your metaphorical headphones on to block out the world and suspend yourself in your own reality. Live your own life truthfully whilst you try on the many different wellbeing trends like coats in a crowded cloakroom.

Do you.

Water your soul.

Blossom.

Grow.

Watch your flames ignite.

Feel your wings spread and your cocoon crack.

YOURS. Not theirs.

Do it all. There is room for it all;

Your dreams, your wants, your choices, your magic, your language, your expressions, your views.

In this world, this universe, your universe, our universe - your limited mortal time can be spent in the moments that ignite your free spirit to dance and the only person who can tell you what the music sounds like, is you.
